Alan Stone, Co-Chairman
Alan continues his father's long-standing commitment to helping those less fortunate. After being graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, Alan served as Senior Vice President of Stone Container Corporation, Area Manager in the Corrugated Division, President of the company's three short line railroads, and General Manager of the Energy Division. In addition to his involvement with the Emergency Fund, Alan is also on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Chicago, the Brewster Academy, Intermodal Transportation Institute of the University of Denver and the Gastrointestinal Research Foundation. He is currently a Consultant and a project manager with the Executive Service Corps.
Thomas M. Owens, Co-Chairman
With his July 2004 election as Co-Chairman of the Emergency Fund, Tom sustains an impressive track record in both the technological and philanthropic industries. A Chicago native, Tom graduated from Loyola University. He joined IBM in 1960 where he held various marketing and management positions until 1979, when he brought XL/Datacomp, Inc. from the "kitchen table to the marketplace. In 1985, Tom was elected Chairman and by 1990, the company reached revenues of $500 million with offices in 80 locations worldwide. In the early 1990's, he began a new career in directing the Owens Foundation's charitable activities. In addition to the Owens Foundation, Tom founded The CARA Program, a comprehensive job placement program, and My Brother's Keeper. He was instrumental in the July 2004 merger between My Brother's Keeper and the Emergency Fund.

James M. Santos, President
Jim is a Principal of the Pinnacle Financial Group, a financial planning and financial services firm located in Des Plaines, which he founded in 1990 after seven years in the financial services industry. Jim is a graduate of Princeton University with a degree in Economics, and has worked with Merrill Lynch and Mass Mutual. He holds the Chartered Financial Consultant and Chartered Life Underwriters designations from the American College. Jim is on the board of the Princeton in Chicago Schools Program, chairs the Logan Square Boys and Girls Club of Chicago Board of Managers, and is a parish council member of SS. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox Church.
