Kathleen joined the Emergency Fund as its first Program Director in March of 2007 after over 15 years of working with people with serious mental illness.

After finishing her undergraduate degree Kathleen worked as a Music Therapist at both The Illinois State Psychiatric Institute and a private psychiatric hospital. Working in these settings gave her ample opportunity to observe a variety of different career paths and she decided to go back to school to become a Social Worker. Kathleen graduated from the Jane Addams College of Social Work at The University of Illinois at Chicago in 1995. She immediately began working at Trilogy, Inc. where she had previously completed an internship. She became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in 1997. In her many years at Trilogy Kathleen served as a Program Manager, Program Director, and Director of Operations.

Kathleen maintains an active role in the Chicago Alliance to End Homelessness by chairing the Homelessness Prevention Constituency Group, serving as a member of the Executive Committee of the Service Providers Commission, the Plan Advisory Committee, the Service Providers Commission, the HMV Committee and the Advocacy Committee .
