Development Internship
The Emergency Fund is the leader in homelessness prevention, providing immediate financial assistance to Chicago area individuals and families for more than 30 years. Currently, we are searching for a Development Intern to assist us with the execution of several key fundraising goals for the organization. This position is 10 hrs. per week, unpaid. There are up to two positions available.

The ideal candidate will possess an interest in the Emergency Fund’s mission, an interest in learning about development, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and related coursework is a plus. Responsibilities will include donor database entry and record clean up, prospecting for individual donors, corporate and foundation donor research, assisting with special events, and other duties as assigned.

Paint the Town Blue Event Committee
The Event Committee will work directly with Emergency Fund staff to plan and implement the annual gala and correlating activities. Each committee member is expected to serve on one of the subcommittees. Committee members are expected to attend a majority of the meetings, and provide feedback and/or reports when attendance is not feasible. Committee members are also expected to recruit other volunteers to serve on the full committee or subcommittees. The committee will meet monthly through July of 2009 and bi-monthly from August-October.
